With 5L.com Heating Up a couple tools that might help you

November 18, 2015 by Raymond Hackney 2 Comments

5L.com names are starting to heat up, I have to say I have been surprised by the amount some have regged. Reading posts on Namepros some members are in the 500 to 1500 range. That is a big bet and I hope it pays off, the frenzy around all these buyouts and Chinese buying habits […]

Keyword Names Outsell Invented Names on BrandBucket for September – October

November 16, 2015 by Raymond Hackney 2 Comments

BrandBucket sent out their November newsletter and it is always nice to get a look at some of the metrics. When it comes to Keyword vs Invented or what I have always called M.U.P.S. (Made Up Pronounceables), the keyword names are selling a bit better. For September and October sales keyword centric names were 55% […]

November 12, 2015 by Raymond Hackney 6 Comments

2005 was an eventful year for me in domaining, early in 2005 I founded 3Character.com and in November the Dot TV sub forum on Namepros. Now some may say sub forum ? So what? Today there are a million niches and Eric Lyon does a good job with some input from me and members of […]

An Interesting Negotiating Ploy – Register the Seller’s Full Name

November 11, 2015 by Raymond Hackney 1 Comment

I have seen some crazy stuff in the middle of domain negotiations but I had not come across what one Namepros member experienced this week. Apparently as negotiations were getting nowhere, the potential buyer registered the firstlastname.com of the seller. The seller posted on Namepros about whether or not he should retaliate. In the post […]

November 9, 2015 by Raymond Hackney 17 Comments

There is talk of hype, bubbles, unrealistic valuation…There is talk about someone will get left holding the bag. Of […]

November 8, 2015 by Raymond Hackney 7 Comments

Business Insider published an article on Saturday that takes a look at what most in our business have been discussing for months. Buyouts here, buyouts there, no more 6N.com or 4L.net. The article delves into why domain names are the perfect Chinese investment vehicle. No customs declaration. No property taxes. No annual fees (outside of […]
