August 12, 2020 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

Then and Now Domain Name Sales Looking at Tuesday’s action it seems Knot.io got reauctioned at Park.io. According to Namebio the name closed at $9,950 on 7/28. The domain closed today for $1,999. I don’t know what the policy is at Park.io if there is a non payment or other potential glitch. Frint.com was once […]

Recent celebrity domain name sales including PriyankaChopra.com

August 11, 2020 by Raymond Hackney 1 Comment

I have written many times about celebrities and domain names. It always is a combination of UDRP’s, cease and desist or a successful sale. The names in this post are celebrity names that just expired. MannyPacquiao.com the .com for the Filipino professional boxer and Senator of the Philippines closed at $1,700 at GoDaddy auctions. For […]

$75,000 buyer of Fibr.com revealed

August 10, 2020 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

Five days ago I wrote about Fibr.com selling for $75,000. The domain was sold by Leo Angelo’s Domaincracy.com. According to Namebio it’s the third time it changed hands in 3 years. The domain name was last purchased for just $3,800 at NamesCon Europe 2019. Leo ran ads on Google for the name. He commented, “I […]

There has been a flurry of StateSolar.coms at auction

August 10, 2020 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

So over the last week there has been a bunch of state solar.coms expiring. From looking at the history it seems like it’s been one registrant. They seem to own a lot of solar related names, like over 6,000. 30 states dropped so far and UtahSolar.com has closed at the highest price. Some of the […]

Then and Now 8-8-20 Iona.io $104 Then $7,777 now

August 9, 2020 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

The action was modest on Saturday, normal for a lazy Saturday in August. Iona.io was the standout name on Saturday, not only was it the highest reported sale but it just traded in December of 2019 for just $104. The domain closed at $7,777. Both times the name sold at Park.io. MPUS.com was sold […]

Then and Now 8-7-20 Handful of $6k to $8k end user sales left to expire

August 8, 2020 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

When we look at the action from Friday, we see a handful of end user sales in the $6,000 to $8,000 range that were left to expire or drop. In most cases these names did not even sell at wholesale for 10% of their retail price. SequoiaClub.com sold for $8,000 back in 2014 on Sedo. […]

Then and now 8-6-20

August 6, 2020 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

Looking at the last couple days of action no big flips like Tuesday. Floa.com did sell for $783 in 2015 and went for $2,150 at NameJet on Thursday. Squawk.io went for $194 in 2017 and closed at Park.io for $2,700. But there have been some names left to expire that sold for decent prices. Showing […]

Niq.com sells for a third time – congrats to Shane and Travis

August 5, 2020 by Raymond Hackney 6 Comments

Shane Cultra tweeted out he and Travis sold Niq.com for somewhere close to their $250,000 asking price on BrandBucket. As I have written about before BrandBucket does delve into higher quality names not just the invented brandable niche. Michael Bilde has sold some quality 4L.coms there for big prices. These would all be 15% commission […]
