Domain Investing Stats and Tips

As we enter a new decade it’s time for GoDaddy to fix their aftermarket platform

November 16, 2019 by Raymond Hackney 4 Comments

There was a nice back and forth on Twitter Friday night concerning GoDaddy Auctions. When you go to GoDaddy to use the appraisal tool, if you scroll down you see this: How does $2,344.00 sound? That was the average sale price in 2017 for a domain at GoDaddy auctions. Ready for your piece of the […]

4600.com at $51,000 closes today at GoDaddy

November 13, 2019 by Raymond Hackney 1 Comment

Not too often does an expired 4N.com make it to the last day on GoDaddy auctions. They usually get renewed, but 4600.com is past 30 days expired and cannot be renewed as it’s registered at GoDaddy. The auction is currently at $51,000. Only 14 reported 4N.com sales in 2019. 2018 had 25 reported sales and […]

A bid at GoDaddy Auctions does not prevent the name from being renewed

October 31, 2019 by Raymond Hackney 2 Comments

With all the discussion about Examiner.com and it getting renewed the conversation on Namepros started mentioning a myth about GoDaddy Auctions that is apparently not true and now confirmed by me with Paul Nicks. Some members started mentioning that they were told or heard that once there was a bid, the domain could not be […]

Examiner.com gets renewed will GoDaddy ever fix their auctions?

October 30, 2019 by Raymond Hackney 4 Comments

Well it looks like Examiner.com got renewed, the auction was over $131,000 and earlier today the name got renewed. While typing in Examiner.com I get a security warning. Whois updated Registrant Name: Domain Manager Registrant Organization: Axs Digital Media Group, LLC Registrant Address: Co, US Creation Date: September 13, 1994 Update Date: October 30, 2019 […]

Examiner.com up to $126,000 as some wonder about what’s going on with the name

October 29, 2019 by Raymond Hackney 5 Comments

Examiner.com is now up to $126,000 on GoDaddy auctions. While the auction is going on, one Namepros member spotted something. The former domain name that was tied to the email address for examiner.com was registered two days ago. Domains@clarityDG.com was the admin email for examiner.com. After being owned for a year by Huge Domains of […]

Recipe4Living.com after having bids removed earlier, still closes at $40,500

October 25, 2019 by Raymond Hackney 2 Comments

So after all that bid removing and rolling back to $7,200 that I mentioned earlier today, Recipe4Living.com still ends up closing at $40,500. If this name does not get paid for at $40,500 then GoDaddy really needs to start looking at how they handle their auctions, especially for auctions that cross the $5,000 threshold. You […]

GoDaddy rolls back the price on Recipe4Living.com to $7,200

October 25, 2019 by Raymond Hackney 2 Comments

I wrote a post a couple days ago about Recipe4Living.com and it’s expiring auction at GoDaddy auctions. The auction was at $40,500 but now it looks like GoDaddy spotted some questionable bids or some other glitch and rolled the price back to $7,200. Bidder 3 is still in the lead, they were the high bidder […]

Recipe4Living.com at $40,500 on GoDaddy auctions

October 23, 2019 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

Looks like another domain with a solid link profile is getting a lot of action at GoDaddy. Recipe4Living.com has been online since 2002. recipe4living.com is currently at $40,500 with a couple days left. A look at Majestic.com Registrar: NAME.COM Creation Date: September 19, 2002 Expires: September 19, 2020 The website has an alexa rank of […]

Wait What? GoDaddy.com is for sale on Afternic

October 4, 2019 by Raymond Hackney 5 Comments

That’s right for just $49,999,999 GoDaddy.com was placed for sale on Afternic. Paul Nicks on line 1. GoDaddy should be able to catch this within their own corporate umbrella. GoDaddyLLC.com is also for sale $5,000 min offer. Tip of the cap to Picorio who spotted this first. Adding to this I just found there is […]

How GoDaddy and 9 other domain registrars looked 15 years ago

September 24, 2019 by Raymond Hackney 1 Comment

Some domain registrars have been around a long time and their look has changed over the years. Here is a look at how 10 different domain registrars looked back in September of 2004. A lot has changed in 15 years and it’s funny to look back at what some of the websites looked like. I […]
