A lot of people are out there buying and bidding on names for the purposes of link profile and domain authority.
An article at SEroundtable.com had some comments from Google’s John Mueller on whether or not high domain authority guarantees high Google rankings.
Of course Google never wants to be completely transparent, so whether what Mueller stated is 100% true is up for debate. In short his answer was NO.
Google’s John Mueller said even if your site has “high domain authority with backlinks” there is no guarantee that it will lead to high Google rankings.

I wonder if Google is going to start getting a lot smarter with this. ie starting counting all backlinks for zero if the name was previously expired or there was a dramatic change in content.
Google ranking factor mix of a lot of things. You just have high authority domain and think you get thousands of traffic is not true. There are lots of other things which play important rule to get organic traffic. Quality Content, USER-Friendly Design, Speed, SSL and many other.
