Sale completed, 5111.com moves to Hong Kong

May 1, 2017 by Raymond Hackney 1 Comment

Well it looks like GoDaddy cashed their winning ticket and collected $218,000 for 5111.com. Many were convinced the domain would be renewed and the owner was just seeking a real world appraisal. Someone emailed me Saturday about the whois not updating and pondered if the domain got renewed. Well the whois has now updated and […]

Currently Namepros is around 500 away from the milestone number. The person who comes closest with their guess of when one million is […]

Would you turn down $200,000 because of an NDA ?

April 29, 2017 by Raymond Hackney 5 Comments

So a posted on Namepros @MapleDots, made an interesting post about NDA’s and sales confidentiality. The initial post: Confidentiality Sucks I have had 3 big sales at 75k each and in each case I signed a confidentiality clause which prohibited me from talking about the domain. In retrospect I find this really hampers my domaining […]

BrandBucket adds some premium domains

April 27, 2017 by Raymond Hackney 5 Comments

BrandBucket has added some premium names according to an email out today. I would think these owners are getting a better commission rate as it would be insane to pay 30%. Timeless.com A name that’s a diamond in the rough, it’s truly ‘timeless’. Tin.com Tin: An short, strong word that can refer to metal or be […]

5111.com closes at $218,000

April 23, 2017 by Raymond Hackney 3 Comments

So 5111.com closed at $218,000 with bidder 19 winning the auction. Bidders 13,14 and 15 dropped out once 16 came on the scene. At the end it was bidder 17 vs 19. If the auction is paid for and not renewed it will be the third highest 4N.com sale reported at Namebio. For our little […]

Now it’s getting ridiculous

April 22, 2017 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

So now GoDaddy has brought bidder 14 back and a bidder 15 has joined the fray on 5111.com. The auction is now back at $174,000 high bid. Yesterday I highlighted how bidder 14 was removed and the high bid was $91,000. So where this auction will close only GoDaddy knows. Bid Date Bid Expires Bidder […]

GoDaddy may make a bit less from 5111.com

April 21, 2017 by Raymond Hackney 4 Comments

In a post we did back on April 14, we highlighted a big windfall for GoDaddy as 5111.com is expiring and was currently at $152,000. The bidding got to $175,000. There is also a $20 bounty to the person who comes closest to guessing the closing price. Well now it seems GoDaddy has cancelled some […]
