Detour.com was registered in 1994 and sold for $15,000 on Moniker in 2009. The domain name was then developed into a GPS based walking tours website. The company was self funded by Groupon founder and former CEO Andrew Mason.
The company was acquired by Bose. The domain name expired last month and closed at $65,006. Some mentioned it expired last year and went to auction at GoDaddy but was renewed.
Not this time. The new owner is Braden Pollock’s Legal Brand Marketing. Congrats to Braden on picking up a great one word domain name with quite the history.
This one was a lowish price for sure.
Most of the one word .com auctions this year have been very lacklustre, Strobe.com, Revise.com, Rowan.com and now this.
Braden always have some story to tell about his every acquisitions
Also he get great deals sometimes
Drone drone. Hi again Snoopy. Anything make you smile at all?
Firstly, Rowan is not a one word domain, it’s a reasonably uncommon last name in the USA (the country that matters). Secondly, those one word domains are pretty low down the pecking order and hardly fit into the boiling hot category of brandable word .coms. You could call them a set of lacklustre names.
Your narrative is now tired and draining so please give everyone a break.
They are all stellar one word names. Rowan is probably a surname as well but the main usage is as a first name.
