“Why isn’t the Namepros marketplace the wholesale gold standard?”

August 25, 2020 by Raymond Hackney

DNWE.com

Namepros

So a couple days ago I wrote about DAN integrating with DNWE.com. While discussing that news on the phone with another domain investor as I liked that change. He asked me what about Namepros?

He wondered if it’s only wholesale pricing why does anyone want to pay 12% commission to do a deal with someone they probably know?

He then asked, “Why isn’t the Namepros marketplace the wholesale gold standard?”

For many years I have wondered why Namepros marketplace is not held in higher esteem, industry wide.

I am not talking about the hardcore members of Namepros but in other circles, like those who mainly avoid forums and communicate on Twitter and messaging groups.

You have moderators, you have a trader rating system that no other platform provides you. A strong trader rating lends itself to social proofing established, honorable members.

While yes there is business taking place there, could there be more?

The person I was chatting with said he spoke to others who were excited about DNWE. He could not understand why, his take was we already have a wholesale marketplace and it’s name is Namepros.

Personally I like what Josh and Josh are doing. My answer to why the excitement? People like new, it’s always that way.

There are certainly things about DNWE that might appeal to someone who is a non NP’er. It’s a cleaner design, with less clutter. On the flipside there is not as much inventory.

DAN.com

Perhaps Namepros should look to do a bit of an overall and see if they to can integrate with DAN. It would be something new and might reinvigorate at least the Buy it now and make offer sections of the marketplace.

Disclosures: DAN is an advertiser here, the author has an account at DNWE.com and has been a long time member and former mod at Namepros.

Breifly, a few of the biggest reasons:
NP $, a JS coin, the act as escrow on the payment side of things. Was what they needed to stick with. When that went away, it was the begining of the end.

From that blunder, they had to rely more on adversting revenue, which turned it into a toxic envrioment – favoritisims.

The PRO badge is a misake – they are the biggest trolls there – wonder why? Coddled arrogance. When the bullet meets the bone, NP stance is: PRO badge means NOTHING. Literally, it’s vanity – they told me so. They don’t hold those folks to ANY standard, and it represnts liteally NOTHING in the eyes of NamePros. Then WHY have it? Answer: those users will do anything, including LIE to support the perception of .COM. They spread propaganda for the owner of NamePros – weather they know it or not. And if you don’t fall in line, you will be ostracized from the domaining cartel. They will povoke you, lie about you, even scam you, then ban you.

NamePros doesn’t respect you ‘PROS – they use you’. In some ciricles, it’s SHAMEFUL to post on namepros. Really! A lot of top domainers are even disgusted of NP. What more reason does a noob need to know? Many think it’s shameful!

But it gets worse, from there, bad policy after bad policy.

You can have MULTIPLE accounts – if you pay for it.
You can CHANGE your username: This just lets these losers go troll, make a fool of themselves, then put on a new suit so they can go bring everyone to the BRINK again…except this time with their post count in tact.

Much more to explain. Too many problems to explain. It’s cess.

They delete what doesn’t suit them!

DOES ANYONE *AGREE* an elite domainer could bring 10,000’s of hits to one of their post in the matter of, say an hour? Think that would alarm a webmaster?

IF there’s thread, word, or domain that paints ANYONE in their camp in a bad light, the post will be deleted or smeared.

I’ve had some of my posts simply deleted, when pros and mods came and made a fool of theselves against me.

    Straight deleted threads.

LIFESAVINGS.ONLINE is a BANNED word there – you can’t type it. My domains are THAT powerful. They can’t have you see what I have to say!

They’re weak. BIG talk about ROB M. throwing a HISSY over DAN *blocking him*!

I have a *DOMAIN NAME* that is BANNED from namepros. Am I winning?

I think you are right Raymond with regards to namepros being more established for all participants. At least there you have history, vetting and that trader rating.

I think some just don’t participate in the discussions because of the drama. That should not exclude them from using the marketplace.

    Good read, thx.

I am certainly never paying dn we 12% to sell at wholesale. Domainers are dumb.

Maybe because NameN00bs is turning into the domain squatter forum. The James.Bond thread there is a good example of people defending squatting

Set it up like a marketplace and I don’t think there will be an issue. I would never buy anything from a forum. Not even spend $5.
