TinaFey.com is expiring at GoDaddy auctions with a current bid of $135. One of the most powerful people in Hollywood, and one of the most popular people from where I grew up. Actually I grew up about 10 minutes from Tina Fey. She is 3 years younger and went to the public high school (Upper Darby) right down the road from the Catholic boys high school I went to (Monsignor Bonner).
Tina has never owned her name in .com it has been owned by the same registrant for 18 years.
I was going to reach out, but it seems Tina really doesn’t care for the Internet. She hasn’t tweeted since 2015 and in a local story on Phillymag.com she was quoted as saying:
“I don’t worry about what the Internet says. Getting in trouble with the Internet is not real. The Internet is not a force you have to obey.” And now, in a new interview with a Net-a-Porter, she attacks again, saying “Steer clear of the Internet and you’ll live forever.”
She’s right about the Internet, well in the Social Media and Newsfeed section. I’m pretty much over it. I’ve noticed my brain stems have become noodles over the past few years. It’s not a good feeling. Youtube, Twitter and Facebook drama will do this. As long as my dog isn’t randomly licking my head I think I’m fine in the health department.
Reached out to her a couple days ago. Attached a screenshot of the auction listing. No response.
Her relationship to the web is like my relationship to the Schuylkill Expressway during rush hour.
