Welcome to another edition of Brandable Bits, we take a look at what’s going on with the people and companies in the brandable domain space.
BrandBucket approaches 40,000 names
BrandBucket is approaching 40,000 names listed. Last July the company was at 15,000 and in a little over 14 months the company will be + 25,000 names. Some have wondered if BrandBucket will pause submissions at 40,000. They also wondered that at 20,000 and 30,000.
I think BrandBucket should offer members the opportunity to bid on first page placement. BrandBucket does have a featured section, they could monetize that area by allowing members to bid on those featured spots. I think with 40,000 names there would be interest from some members to get front page real estate.

Here is a link that will give you a way to follow all new domains being published to BrandBucket. Very handy for those checking out new keyword trends.
Nat Hunt lists the largest BB portfolio ever for sale on Namepros
Nat Hunt has listed 529 BrandBucket published domains with buy it now pricing.
*Nat did not pay anything for this mention, it was included as I think a portfolio sale of this size is noteworthy.
CheapDomains.com a new player in the brandable niche
Cheap Domains (an advertiser on this blog) launched recently and are offering their own domains currently. The company has several names priced at very reasonable prices. There are names listed that are sub $1,000 and even a few below $500.
I recently was in a chatroom where many discussed trying to sell brandables cheaper and do a greater volume than what BrandBucket does. It requires a lot of work and a good outbound program in my opinion.
You have to weigh both sides, you might be able to sell 10 names at $500 faster, but did you miss out on selling one of those names for $5,000 to a startup that could easily pay that price.
Hmm, Had a quick look at CheapDomains.com and I personally don’t like a lot of names there. Also, the one I find good are priced $1,500 to $8,500 so I think brandbucket still way a head of the competition.
Disagree. Cheap domains had better pricing. Bb has names priced for $50,000 +.
Brand bucket has more names nothing else.
Send/zo – $499 – CheapDomains
Send/za – $3,385 – BrandBucket
Both domains are good. I personally prefer ZA over ZO.
ex: Soundza sounds better than Soundzo IMO.
Agreed. Simply wanted to point out the budget option in reference to the Zo / Za trend that bb helped popularize.
Looking at 5L+ .coms sold on NameBio, the Za suffix performs much better than the Zo in terms of both quality and quantity.
Reasons? One guestimation is ZA is closer linguistically to common dictionary suffix Zer/Ser than Zo.
For example, what is the better brandable form of Tweezer: Tweezo or Tweeza?
Perhaps, my Jewish grandmotha instilled this type of linguistics in me, but I firmly believe the Za is the better form.
FWIW: Both Tweezo and Tweeza are listed on HugeDomains for the same price, $2,095.
Grilled,
I agree with you 100%.
I just got Pornzer the other day.
I think it’s better than Pornza, Pornzo and Pornzy
Cheers!
Thanks for the mention, Raymond.
CheapDomains seem to have some decent names and priced well. Brandbucket is leading the way by a country mile they have the contact list and marketing budget. There are loads of brandable marketplaces that are a lot cheaper than brandbucket like cheapdomains, excitemental, brandfishing etc… but do they have the same visibility as Brandbucket? No
