What would Google Search look like without backlink relevancy ? Matt Cutts says it would look worse

Matt Cutts put out a video today that answered a question that dealt with a Google algorithm without backlink relevancy.

Matt said there is nothing available to the public but they have tested it internally and it was much worse without the backlinks.

So backlinks will continue to play a big part in Google search rankings.
