imigration.com sells for $35,000

December 1, 2011 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

Just coming through as sold on Sedo is the domain imigration.com for $35,000. The name is obviously one "m" away from immigration.  So it looks like a strong i keyword sale. The domain was regged in 1998.  Whois shows Moniker privacy, looked to have been just a parked page. SubscriptionEconomy.com is another nice sale today […]

December 1, 2011 by Raymond Hackney 1 Comment

We had been doing the most active Go Daddy auction posts for awhile.  Actually had a chat with 10 domainers who read the blogs and most said they wanted picks not just what was active. The active domain only means there is a lot of bids but the names and prices may hold little value […]

Why do people register celebrity names ?

November 30, 2011 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

People continue to register celebrity names because sometimes they get paid.  I just read the post on ElliotsBlog.com about the UDRP on the Detroit Lions star player Ndamukong Suh.  Elliot brought out some great points that are 100 % right imo. The reason why registrations continue is because people read a story like the one […]

November 29, 2011 by Raymond Hackney 1 Comment

It certainly seems that many average domains sell for bigger amounts when they are an expired domain.  You can look at Go Daddy and see expired domains sell for prices that you would never see if being shopped by the owner. Even with quality names things are funny. EAM.com is currently on auction at Go […]

Paid search and clicks up big to start the season

November 28, 2011 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

Laurie Sullivan wrote a piece detailing the strong start to the holiday season as far as paid search goes. From the article: Both paid-search spend and clicks rose this holiday season compared with last year. Marketers spent 128% more, driving up consumer clicks. In fact, clicks rose 87% on Thanksgiving Day compared with a year […]
