February 13, 2025 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

Michael Cyger created a fun little tool for domain name renewals that might double as comedy relief. These are the actual renewal rates for mostly new gtlds. Obviously legacy extensions such as .com, .net and .org do not have premium renewal fees. One poster pointed out that the tool does not include .ws which has […]

February 12, 2025 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

Brad Mugford made a post on X about a person who repeatedly emailed him about acquiring a domain name. The replies to the post are varied. For me it underlies the problem of cold emailing another domain investor about a domain name. You cannot follow the same principles that email marketers use when doing outbound […]

February 10, 2025 by Raymond Hackney 2 Comments

Finanzen.com closes at $51K on GoDaddy auctions

February 5, 2025 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

A strong German keyword was left to expire Finanzen.com (Finances) and closed at $51,000 at GoDaddy auctions. The domain name is not registered at GoDaddy so there might be some time left to renew like with what happened last month’s Mechanical.com six figure close. Finanzen.com was registered in 1996. DotDB.com shows 103 extensions registered. Finanzen.net […]

999.tv closes at $38,000 at GoDaddy

January 28, 2025 by Raymond Hackney Leave a Comment

999.tv sold for $1,750 way back in 2011 at Sedo. Numeric .tvs have been of interest to some domain investors. Usually when I see a domain wanted ad for .tv they want numerics. NN and NNN. So it looks like someone goofed by letting their 999.tv expire and if it gets paid GoDaddy will pocket […]
