Apparently Santa Claus wanted to end 2024 with one more present for Swetha. Stable.xyz sold for $100,000 at Afternic. This deal was brokered apparently.
Stable.xyz was registered in 2016.
According to DotDB.com stable registered in 262 extensions.
Congrats to Swetha

That’s wonderful for Swetha, and I’m very happy to see another large sale like this.
But at the end of 2024 -given the AI age we’re living through -, it’s a mystery as to why anyone would spend $100K for anything other than dot-Com or dot-AI.
Only exception to what I said would be if it was purchased by the owner of the dot-Com of that same name, or some well-funded NGO/non-profit needs a specific dot-Org.
What matters is the demand of the end user. Closing one’s eyes thinking that sales are not legitimate, will not change the direction of the market.
For obvious reasons, dot com cannot supply all of the demand.
Isn’t it strange this Swetha, who has sold 4,5 to 6 figure sales has never been seen or heard from? I mean how can anyone believe this?
When these exact questions were brought up a year or two ago, a few bloggers apparently did some due diligence and seemed to conclude that her sales were legit.
I agree, though, that it’s hard to believe that Dot-XYZ is such an in-demand extension.
