Namecheap released an in depth look back at 2024. This report covers domain registration data from 2023 and 2024, and specific time periods are indicated with each data point.
You all know who was going to be the top tld of 2024 in registrations. I don’t think most would guess 2 and 3. Of course this is data for Namecheap and not all of domaining.
TLDs with best renewal rates
*Based on domains registered in the period of January 1, 2023 – December 3,
2023 which were due to renew in January 1, 2024 – December 3, 2024.
*Includes only TLDs that had more than 3000 renewals over the past year.
.Com came in 9th at a 32% rate. That surprised me that .gg or .tv would be higher than .com. Probably a lot of speculative one year fliers on .com during the year.
