I wrote a couple weeks ago about Newswire.com. Michael Santiago shared the story of how the company moved from i-newswire.com to newswire.com and things took off from there. Michael is out with a new story on how he hand registered ChatGPT.com. He shares the negotiations with the GoDaddy broker who approached him with an initial $25K offer.
Michael goes on to say that his price was $85K and he was standing firm, he would not have sold at $80K or $84K.

It’s a very good story and I read a few people on X.com stating that Michael sold cheap. I don’t think so, this was back in 2022, at that time who knows if OpenAi would filed a UDRP? The buyer as Michael points out in the story was not OpenAi his buyer sold it to them. I think for a handreg it was a great price, you can never use hindsight that’s just too lazy. I mean go look at what TV.com was acquired for back in the day.
Thank you to Michael for sharing.
