Over the last two years there have been just 8 reported LLL.com sales under $20,000. The common theme? Q and V. All but one sale contains at least one and 4 contain both.
These are difficult names to sell, you need to find the perfect end user that has the right combination for the letter to make sense.
Q is certainly good when it is preceded by the letter i so you can make something iq.com. Shane Cultra and Travis had a great sale when Nielsen came along and purchased NIQ.com.
Q and V together are a tricky combination. Queen Village, Valley perhaps? When it’s VQ you really need something like a quarterly publication with V in the second position Silicon Valley Quarterly. SVQ.com went for $15,500 on Friday at NameJet. Good luck to the buyer.
Doesn’t surprise me much – I arrived at a the same conclusion a while back. While letters such as Q, X are popular in China, V isn’t used at all I believe.
Q isn’t frequently used even in English. In fact it’s nearly the least-used letter.
So the pool of end users that can make use of both combinations at the same time is somewhat limited.
