S is the undisputed king for domain name sales based off of starting letter. This is just a fun look at domain sales and starting letters in .com. Every reported sale on Namebio, broken down by starting letter.

S and C are the top two letters based on both number of sales and dollar volume.

V has close to 50% of it’s dollar volume come from one sale, of course that is Voice.com.

Thank you Raymond for taking the time to analyze and compile.

    Very interesting.

Interesting. I didn’t think there would be such a big difference between s and c and, say, t.

I can understand this is just for kicks, though I do wonder if some will take this data seriously.

The issue here is causation, ie just because rich people drive Mercedes doesn’t mean you get rich from buying Mercedes.

Starting letter has nothing to do with the chance of a domain selling. It is simply that “s” is the most common letter at the start of words.
