Selling a domain name for a million dollars, the dream of just about every domain name investor. Over the years many domainers have told me this is their ultimate dream. According to Namebio there have only been 125 sales reported that come in at $1 million or more.
125 sales – 122 names as Sex.com sold twice and Fly.com sold three times.
Time is running out for 2020, only 3 + months left to record a 7 figure domain name sale. Every year since 2003 there has been at least one 7 figure domain name sale recorded at Namebio.
2014 recorded the highest number of domain name sales in the millions, with 11 separate domain names hitting the 7 figure or better mark. There were only 2 recorded in 2011.
2020 has been such a turbulent and down trodden year across the globe that it makes sense this would be the year to miss the mark.
What do you think? Do we see a 7 figure sale before the end of the year?

Note: There are many sales that are unreported each month. We cannot comment on the unknown, so we deal with what’s reported to, and by, reliable sources.
What a year 2014 was…
I was reading twitter I see some can’t read, REPORTED. Whoever thought domain investors could read.
It is possible we could get one. But regardless this is the weakest domain market that has ever been reported on. The numbers are there and they are far lower than 2019.
The only bring spot is the drop market which has been resilient.
