Donnied79 is back at it again with another great .tv sale. This one with a bit of history. Donnied79 sold USA.tv for $125,000 back in 2015 and DIY.tv for $32,500 in March of this year, to name a few of his biggest .tv sales.
Fans.tv sold for $10,000 on Sedo back in 2010. It launched a site in 2012. From back in 2012:
Meet the team behind Fans
We are three guys who had a big idea: to create a unique social TV experience. Built around the core of user personalization, our service is useful, innovative, and beautifully designed. We’ve called it FANS.
FANS evolved from our years of application innovation for television networks in the US and Australia. In a fast growing and ever changing space, our focus has limitless potential.
FANS also works with TV networks directly, like the CW Network so they can personalize their space before users personalize their experience.
So the name expired and another .tv domain investor who held the name for a year due to a glitch and it got repriced to standard fee.
The registrar force deleted the name and they were not willing to pay $1,875. Donnied79 stepped up in November 2019 and paid $1,875. He sold the domain for $22,000.

Hi guys,
I’ve sold in the last days Fans(.)tv for 22K.
It has been a very quick negotiation for a domain that got a lot of offers in this period.
I’m happy about the sale price, I think the buyer is a big company, so let’s see what they will make with it.
It was a domain I catched around 1 year ago for 1.8K from the registry, and to me another proof that .tv with the right keywords is the best TLD of them all (except .com of course and ccTLD with keywords in the corresponding language) with opportunities to get great domains for reasonable prices. Will report it to DNJ.
Congrats to Donnied will be interesting to see what the buyer does with the name.

Great sale, congrats Donnie!
With people going out for entertainment less, I think .tv domains will be in greater demand.
And 5G – however unhealthy it may be – will be another boost.
