Second Time Around – ProfitNetwork.com from $14,000 to $1,101

Second Time Around – ProfitNetwork.com from $14,000 to $1,101

Taking a look at Saturday’s domain name sales action and names that transacted for the second time around. ProfitNetwork.com saw better days and BuyDomains scored with PixelShare.com.

Sometimes it’s as simple as the name expired and it’s not an end user buying but rather a domain investor. Sometimes it is a sale to another end user. Other times the name even though expired is a bit more trendy and trades at a higher price.

These second time around posts can be used in a variety of ways, sometimes it’s to see the burn down value of a name, what were investors willing to pay for a name an end user once valued so high?

Perhaps it’s to see a great flip, a name acquired on the cheap that was flipped for 10, 20, 100x.

I do like looking at names that were allowed to expire at GoDaddy and then the very next year also expire, how did sentiment change, when just about all the variables are the same.

Hopefully you get something out of them even if it’s just to satisfy a curiosity.

Flip, Flops and Drops

BuyDomains recorded a nice flip on the name PixelShare.com. The domain was acquired for $306 on GoDaddy auctions back in 2016. BuyDomains sold the name for $4,088 on Saturday.

Same day, different result. In 2018 Doorkeys.com closed at GoDaddy auctions for $570, two years later, same place, same date and it closed at $1,820 on Saturday.

Vanitee.com was acquired at GoDaddy auction back in 2008 for $115, no domain investor benefited but DropCatch pocketed $1,538.

BrideAgency.com like Doorkeys.com expired on 5/9/2017 and 5/9/2020. Back in 2018 it went for $170 and Saturday it closed at $725.

TeaExpress.com closed on 5/9 in 2016 and went for $575 and pulled in $730 on Saturday.

OnionGames.com for some reason this expired name went for a little more than double just one year later. Expired at GoDaddy in 2019 for $115 and in 2020 for $256.

CapeMedia.com this name added $205 from last time it expired on GoDaddy auctions. Back in 2014 it closed for $291, it went for $496 on Saturday.

The Drops

Archerie.com this name was sold by BuyDomains back in 2016 for $5,788 and went for just $952 on Saturday at GoDaddy auctions. Fair number of companies on Google using archerie in their domain name. Might see this one sell again.

ProfitNetwork.com this is the third recorded transaction for this name. Big drop off from the last time. The domain sold for $515 on NameJet in 2008 and sold for $14,000 at Uniregistry in 2016. It went for just $1,101 at GoDaddy on Saturday.

WhiteGold.org sold for $2,000 on NameJet in 2011, fast forward 9 years and it closed for just $192 at GoDaddy on Saturday.

InfoVegas.com was another name that recorded a third reported transaction. Each time on 5/9 2015, 2016 and 2020. I am not sold that the 2016 transaction actually got paid. $120 in 2015 and then $4,309 in 2016 and $245 on Saturday.

Ratgeber.org sold for $2,085 in 2009 on Sedo. It looks like it’s German for adviser or guide? It closed at $162 on DropCatch.

TAXSETTLEMENTS.COM sold for $2,800 back in 2008 on Afternic and closed for $1,531 on GoDaddy on Saturday.
