Domain Investing Stats and Tips

Wix.io up second time around, Beginner.io takes a hit

Second Time Around – Domain Name Sales May 13 2020

Domain names sales for May 13, 2020 that transacted for the second time around.

Sometimes it’s as simple as the name expired and it’s not an end user buying but rather a domain investor. Sometimes it is a sale to another end user. Other times the name even though expired is a bit more trendy and trades at a higher price.

These second time around posts can be used in a variety of ways, sometimes it’s to see the burn down value of a name, what were investors willing to pay for a name an end user once valued so high?

Perhaps it’s to see a great flip, a name acquired on the cheap that was flipped for 10, 20, 100x.

I do like looking at names that were allowed to expire at GoDaddy and then the very next year also expire, how did sentiment change, when just about all the variables are the same.

Hopefully you get something out of them even if it’s just to satisfy a curiosity.

Flips

FictionWise.com sold in 2016 on NameJet for $3,750. Wednesday it closed for $7,000 on NameJet.

FirstScreen.com Wednesday was the fourth reported transaction on this name. It originally sold in 2009 for $3,625 at Sedo, it sold for a loss on Sedo when it went for $2,500 back in 2011. It then closed on 5/13 back in 2015 on GoDaddy auctions for $260 and on Wednesday it posted it’s highest close, $6,101 at GoDaddy auctions.

TopQ.com sold for $2,200 on DropCatch in 2016, four years later it got a double (almost) closing at $4,300 at NameJet on Wednesday.

Wix.io sold for $265 on Park.io back in 2017, on Wednesday it went for $2,000 at Park.io.

TutorWorks.com what a difference a year makes, the domain expired on 5/13/19 at GoDaddy auctions and went for $377. And now on 5/13/20 it closes for $1,601 at GoDaddy auctions.

LegalNeeds.com Did someone say quick flip? The name went for $160 at NameJet on 4/19/20 and closed at Flippa on Wednesday for $2,050.

HeritageCommunities.com sold for $2,150 back in 2013 on Afternic. BuyDomains sold it on Wednesday for $2,800.

iSaq.com sold for $411 on NameJet back in 2017 and closed at $800 Wednesday on NameJet.

ONEAMERICACOMMITTEE.COM closed on 5/13/16 at $281 on  GoDaddy auctions, and Wednesday it closed for $617 at GoDaddy auctions.

Flops

10234.com closed on the same day last year for $9,900. Today same environment again, GoDaddy auctions, it closed for $5,447.

EWIgroup.com sold for $3,888 on Afternic in 2013 and closed at GoDaddy auctions on Wednesday at $101. Clearly a name that when you get the right end user you can get a good pay day, otherwise little to no value from any other random domain name.

CarrotCo.com sold for $2,500 in 2017 on Sedo, it closed Wednesday at Dynadot for $156.

Beginner.io sold for $2,950 on Sedo in 2018 and went for $765 on Flippa on Wednesday.

ALNAHAR.COM sold for $2,900 on Afternic back in 2005 and closed Wednesday at GoDaddy auctions for $1,325.

OxygenHospitals.com sold for $1,295 on Afternic in 2013 and it closed Wednesday for $151 on GoDaddy auctions.

FruitvaleFilm.com sold for $865 on 5/13/15 and on 5/13/20 closed for $151.
