Looking back at January 2020 Domain Sales. Here we will examine domain sales and data trends for certain naming categories.

The new year started off with Namebio reporting 8,826 sales in January for $8.1m.

The average sales price was $922. One of the lowest average prices in months.

There were only three reported 6 figure sales in January. (This data does not include NamesCon live auction results.).

Short names

There were no reported 2L or 3L sales in January.

Four letter .coms recorded 306 sales, these 4L.com sales brought in $423,100. Of those 306 sales, 52 were Chips, (no a,e,i,o,u,v). Those chips brought in $48,900 in sales. Kiru.com was the top 4L.com sale at $75,415.

Numerics there were no 2N or 3N in January, there were two 4N.com: 7910.com for $83,100 and 8504.com for $20,000.

There were 125 5N.com sales in January, these sales generated $160,400 in sales. The average sale price was $1,283. 55377.com was the high sale at $13,400.

6N.com sales totaled 84 for a total dollar amount of $51,700, average price $615. 776633.com was the high sale at $6,600.

Popular Keywords

There are certain keywords that are the most sought after in domain wanted threads, certain keywords that are the strongest when it comes to overall registration numbers.

Media recorded 15 sales ending in media, DroneMedia.com was the high sale at $4,312. The average sale was $763.

Labs recorded 12 sales ending in labs with Southernlabs.com being the high sale at $2,288. The average sales price was $516.

Online recorded 19 sales ending in online with TTOnline.com being the high sale at $511. The average sales price was $241.

Coin recorded 16 sales ending in coin with LoanCoin.com being the high sale at $2,856. The average sales price was $526. Coin also recorded 13 sales as the first keyword in a two word combo. CoinTic.com was the high sale at $3,450. The average sales price was $534.

CBD recorded 8 sales starting with CBD with CBDoilproducts.com being the high sale at $505. The average sales price was $211. CBD recorded 12 sales ending in CBD with MRSCBD.com being the high sale at $369. The average sales price was $214.

Crypto recorded 25 sales starting with Crypto with CryptoCart.com being the high sale at $2,486. The average sales price was $431. There were 4 sales ending with Crypto, VertexCrypto.com was the high sale at $2,000.

Capital recorded 13 sales ending in Capital with WarrenCapital.com being the high sale at $5,000. Average sales price was $814.

Smart recorded 19 sales starting with Smart. SmartCat.com was the high sale at $9,018. Average sales price $1,150.

Tech recorded 15 sales starting with Tech. The top sale was TechMetalsResearch.com at $1,775. Average sales price $436. There were 17 sales ending in Tech. InnovoTech.com was the high sale at $4,995. Average sales price $1,193.

Data recorded 11 sales starting with Data. DataConsulting.com was the high sale at $3,950. Average sales price $869. There were 7 sales ending in Data. OctaneData.com was the top sale at $2,795.

New GTLD’s

The new gtld’s generated 58 sales. Total sales came in at $101,600.  The high sale was Open.Exchange at $13,890. Average sales price $1,752.
