A lot of times the domains wanted section on Namepros leads to frustration for both buyers and sellers.
Buyers get a ton of pm’s with names they specifically said they were not looking for.
Sellers see new threads where someone says they will buy their 3L.com for $5,000 to $8,000 or I will take your cvcv.com for $700.
#WTF
But today I read a nice post on Namepros, Mr Packer sold CryptoCorp.com, a domain he hand regged in 2000 for $16,500. People wondered where he sold it? An end user, Binance?
Nope, it was sold via a domains wanted thread.
Congrats to Mr.Packer, 18 years is a long time to hold a name. Good luck to the buyer.
this guy gave away that domain name for chump change. sorry to hear it.when he see’s it built out by some millionaire pennypincher he will regret not getting his $100,000 plus ++
I completely disagree with you steve. The seller made out like a fat rat. I highly doubt the new bar will ever see his money back EVER. Only time will tell to see who’s right
Mods have been keeping an eye on the Domains Wanted forum more to try to improve the user experience. However, we still need members to report issues that happen in Direct Messages of domains not matching criteria so we can ensure that it doesn’t happen again.
It’s a slow process sometimes because it’s impossible to filter out messages automatically, so we have to manually investigate each report and take actions when necessary.
Each time we do this, it reminds individual sellers of the rule against it they agreed to by using NamePros. In most cases, they never do it again, however, in the rare cases there is a repeat offender, we can take more serious actions to prevent them from doing it anymore.
NamePros caters to members from all over the world and many new members join each day. There’s always new sellers that may not know or remember the rule or failed to read them at all. So, it’s a constant process that we all (members and moderators) pitch in and work together to maintain.
With the help of buyers/investors reporting sellers that send domains that don’t meet the criteria, we can help eliminate it more efficiently.
Some people might be surprised at how many other BIG sales have happened and still do take place in Domain Buyer Requests. It’s one of our busier forums that requires constant attention. Thanks for reporting this great sale that took place on NamePros. 🙂
CryptoCo.com changed hands recently too.
My CryptoGod.com is still for sale. 😉
So is CryptoSkills.com.
