BrandBucket released their newsletter today, Michael Krell let readers know that December was the best month for sales in 2016.
59 different sellers sold a domain in December. Keyword brandables averaged a slightly higher price than invented brandable.
BrandBucket will be at NamesCon booth 38.
December Sales
December turned out to be our top sales month of 2016 in terms of both revenue and individual sales. A whopping 59 sellers received a “Sold” email from Christine which never hurts around the holidays! After removing sales above $10K, the average sales price for a keyword brandable was $2585 and the average sales price of an invented brandable was $2444.

Typical spin to make it sound like they had their “top sale month”. Yes, they probably had top revenue month with 2 sales in the $60-70K range, but what does “top sale month” for “individual sales” mean? Does it mean top for number of names sold, or top month for high value names sold, or something entirely different?
Truly a shame that everything has to be so carefully read for real meaning to be obtained. Straight talking is not something I ever associate with BB given how much spin goes into everything they release.
Exactly how I felt about 1.5 years ago, before I decided to take matters into my own hands.
I sold the most brandable names in December as well!
Sold StreamRun.com MinShop.com DataPile.com PickDeals.com and almost sold BossNow.com (still pending) and YouWeddings.com.
Also sold SmartphoneCash.com and LaunchWiress.com. Almost sold SaugsagePizza.com too.
All domains sold were incoming sales as well.:-)
Typing on a smartphone is not fun. Lol.
I meant to say LaunchWireless.com and SausagePizza.com. 🙂
