73.com did not meet reserve at the ROTD/4.CN auction. The high bid was $2,361,950. 16 bids by 12 bidders. Would you have taken that price if you were the owner ?
Here is a look at the reported sales of NN.com over the years. There are just 26 reported sales according to Namebio. It would be nice to hop in the Delorean and go back to the mid 2000’s and pick up one or two under $100,000.

I would have sold it for $2.3 Mil for sure.
Your reported 3+ year old pricing is VERY misleading.
I support the owner.
I wouldn’t sell it for $2.36M.
I did not read it as misleading I think it just said overtime.
Yes. I would have sold it for that.
Think again.
What drives prices up and what sink prices down?
Rejection of high bids is exactly what we (domain holders and investors) want and need to see.
Thanks for not selling it!
You want to see it because it doesn’t affect you and what if the owner never get another price like that ever again and domains lose value over time or he leaves this world ? yeah it doesn’t affect you in anyway and I’d be willing to bet you don’t own any names anywhere close to 73.com
You are wrong.
What I wrote is a general statement, regardless of the name in my/your possession.
Every investment is risky. Your comment may apply to stocks, bonds, currency exchange, etc.
72.ca is a shorter and easier name to type. I am sure the owner would take substantially less. 😉
I sure would have wished the owner would have sold. How about Yj.com for almost $700 more than what GJ.com sold for a few days ago on Namejet?
Also should have sold.
c4.com $80K ?
FF.net for $50K?
Lots of LLL.com should have sold’
The auction could have done $4M+
Calculate and compare net sale prices. Since you have asked for 25% commission, YOU may be a real reason why many name haven’t sold.
If the last reported sale was $1,960,800 and which occurred last year, $2,361,950 is not a bad price to sell 73.com this year.
It all depends on the seller financial situation.
For most of us 2M can be a life changing but maybe the owner can afford to wait?
Unless the owner paid a ton of money for it, then it was silly for him/her to reject 2.3M for that domain. chances are good an offer like that will never come again, and they just made a 2.3M mistake. How many more awesome investments could you make with that 2.3 and quickly turn it into 3-4M??
No, I would not have sold at that price. Reserve is for a reason.
I see lots of nonsense going on around nn and nnn .com domains nowadays. it seems it is pretty hard to sell them at your desired greedy prices so you are making some fake marketing for it.
Yes i have seen many articles making a funny way to marketing them by posting fake news like this one. oh it seems like gtlds are hitting .com badly nowadays as those nn and nnn ll and lll gtlds are widely available at a much cheaper price making it difficult for .com investors.
.com investors have been fighting gtlds yet no one cares. millions of gtlds are being registered and lesser .com sales are taking place. oh yeah it is so bad people are spending money and investing in gtlds and not buying my .com domains but what can i do ?
The kind of people buy New gtlds can’t afford NNN.com and this was not a fake news story it was a real live auction you should learn how to read.
73s is the old ham radio operators’ sign-off, short for ‘best regards’
88s means ‘love and kisses’ (as well as being slang for good rockin’ piano)
By not selling at this price the owner has taken a risk in such a fluctuating market. What if there’s no offer more than 2.32 M soon,he/she would have to wait for a longer and uncertain period.
We are of different values in terms of price and valuations. The guy knew the worth of the name and waited for the actual time. That is business for you, it takes time to really understand it in domain industry. I think you all know that patience is a major value in domaining.
But if I am the one I could have sold it for $1, 960,800.
Cheers.
