Who bought it ?
I don’t know like someone on Namepros mentioned there is no whois record. I am sure it was a premium reserve and they will get the paperwork done. The tweet came out late.
Now sit back and wait for either the.com guys that are so old they don’t even know what day it is or the wannabe noobs to say the sale bogus. The Internet is changing and the new GTLD’s are not going away; they might not be.com but they’re here to stay
I am not a professional domainer, just I want to know!!! How can be possible to sell a domain that is included in the list ICANN “name collision”? https://www.icann.org/sites/default/files/tlds/club/club-apd-list-12nov13-en.csv
You would have to be a supreme dumb ass to believe this story.
Hard to imagine that someone of Larry’s stature would be fibbing.
Thanks Frank. Coffee.Club was purchased by the owner of Coffee.org, Bill McClure.
Why would Coffee.club sell for 100 grand when CoffeeClub.com isn’t even close to being worth that.
These GTLD sales are such Bullshit!! This is one reason why the domain industry gets no respect from outsiders.
The correct comparison is coffee.com(mercial) vs coffee.club.
I am not saying this is a complete confirmation but another registry congratulated Dot Club and they retweeted, they did not reply there was bad info or no sale or anything like that.

Congratulations @getDotClub and the buyer! “coffee.club sold for $100,000” ow.ly/DGD7V

They are going to congratulate every single sale they hear about whether it’s BS or not because it benefits them and all registries when these big sales are published.
That wasn’t my point Todd, I was just talking about the sale, not them congratulating I agree with you on that its good pr for all of them.
I meant if the sale was not real I would hope Dot Club would not retweet.
Sorry Raymond I read it wrong. I am not denying that DotClub is saying the sale is real but I am saying that the sale is either made up or embellished to a large degree. Maybe it did sell but not for 100 grand or anything close to it.
GTLD sales mean nothing to anyone unless it sells for a lot of money. If this name sold for 5 grand no one would care but saying it sold for 100 grand obviously puts tons of hype into this industry and we all know this industry is fueled by hype.
wow… Coffee.club sold for $100,000 !! thats a big deal, .club is one of the Most Promising New gTLD. and it got this years TRAFFIC Awards too.
