BrandBucket Has A New Look
BrandBucket rolled out a new look a few weeks ago and I chatted with Margot Bushnaq about the new design of the site. Margot explained:
The biggest reason for the change was to make the site responsive and mobile-friendly. Over the past year, we’ve seen visitors from mobile devices increase from 35% to almost 60%. The type of person/buyer BrandBucket attracts is usually tech-savvy, and they love to brainstorm in their free time, which usually means while they are on their phone or tablet.
We also are very focused the next few months on testing and refining a few key features. The first is the placement of the search/filtering. Because our inventory is not keyword-based, and also because the categories that a domain is placed in can be very arbitrary, we prefer that users browse several pages first before attempting to find something in particular. We’re monitoring the analytics closely, and there may be changes, but so far the changes to the navigation are positive.
Removing the sold listings is also something we’re testing. Our primary focus has been and will always be to build the site for end-user buyers, and we’re seeing if keeping only the available inventory visible changes their behavior at all. It was really only domain sellers and other people interested in the BrandBucket business who even knew that if you went to the last few pages you could see sold inventory — not that we want to ignore that population altogether, but there may be a different way to expose information on sales other than over-crowding the buyer’s view.
The site has also rolled out a voting system:
e are launching a new domain voting feature for registered users like you, and we’d love to have you come back to the site and participate. In return you’ll help us improve our domain inventory and earn perks within the BrandBucket system.
Community + Collaboration
BrandBucket receives thousands of new domain submissions each week. With your votes, we can help find the gems that our editors may have overlooked so we can add them to our site.
We’ve made the voting interface friendly, easy and fun. You’ll see two names presented side-by-side, and all you have to do is choose the name that you would prefer if you were starting a new business!
How to Get Started
1. Login to your BrandBucket account at www.brandbucket.com/user/login [https://www.brandbucket.com/user/login/]
2. Type in www.brandbucket.com/vote [https://www.brandbucket.com/vote] in your browser’s address bar.
3. Start voting! Choose your favorite option between pairs of names.
Improve your BrandBucket Social Karma
The more you participate, the more you’ll be eligible for future perks like domain submission processing priority and featured domain listings.
And please consider each vote seriously. The system has been designed to learn about your individual taste and preferences which will be taken into consideration for how your published domains are displayed. Votes determined to be random will be disregarded.

Do they still charge $10 per listing ?
Yes $10 per name.
