Brandables domains are getting talked up a lot lately on Namepros with a lot of talk centering around Brand Bucket. Name Perfection is another company in the space and they put out this infographic. These boutique firms are focused on start ups and helping them to get their perfect domain. I don't agree with the point in the graphic that EMD domains are no longer effective. Using them with poor content or spammy sites makes them less effective since Google updated their algorithm, but used properly they are still a smart choice for many with a strong business plan and high quality content.
catchy, smart domain hacks are the right choice for startups (if they have a strong, well funded business plan). They need to be visible in the crowd and be able to register a valid trademark.
What is that amount of money in the gold starburst seal? $10,0000??? Does anyone at Name Perfection proofread?
Generics are impossible to beat, even when used for a brandable.
A good example is Apple.com
Imho.
