How to check which backlinks are hurting your site

Over the last few weeks Google has been deindexing sites from their search engine that have un natural links or look to be over optimized.

Google sent a message to users through Google Webmaster Tools telling them to remove these links and to then resubmit their site for inclusion in their search index.

This is an arduous process and even some bigger sites got deindexed if the link profile looked un natural.

Modesto Sios over on Seo Moz wrote an extensvie piece on how to check which links can hurt your website's ranking or get it completely wiped from Google.

For anyone interested in learning more the article is worth reading and bookmarking to refer back to for when you need it.
