Google really starting to push their mobile initative

November 2, 2011 by Raymond Hackney

Gomo

Google has put up a site www.howtogomo.com that will help those looking to develop and market their website for the mobile web.

Google believes you need a mobile site. ” Just because you can see your desktop site on a mobile phone doesn’t mean it’s mobile-friendly. Mobile sites are designed for the small screen, with the needs of mobile users in mind. A mobile-friendly site can help your business connect with customers and drive conversions.”

You can test your site on how to go mo. This tool shows you how your current site looks on a smartphone, and provides a report on what’s working and what you can do better.

They provide a list of vendors to help build your mobile site.

According to Google:

More kids know how to use a smart phone than know how to tie their shoes.

More people have a smart phone than have a passport.

20 million households no longer have a land line.
