Jeffrey Gabriel’s Vision Behind Saw.com
Saw.com has launched a new website, I reached out to Saw.com co-founder Jeffrey Gabriel to get some details on the new site and his vision for the future.
Q1) You recently launched a new Saw.com. What features should existing and new users be most excited about?
When we set out to update our site, the goal was simple—create an experience that builds trust, showcases our expertise, and reinforces our leadership in the domain industry.
We brought in professionals who specialize in buyer experience to make it as easy and comfortable as possible to act. That means more leads, more conversions, and less hesitation at checkout. The reality is that creating the goal was simple, but making it happen was a different matter altogether!
If you have ever created a website offering numerous features and functionalities, this is a massive undertaking. Doing it off of an old site, every button, every picture needs to have a plan. It is like knocking all the walls down in your house and starting over. Writing the content, making it SEO-friendly, retaining backlinks, ensuring it makes sense, and conveying the right message. It was a lot of work.
The new site also does a better job of telling our story—thousands of completed sales totaling $97,575,783 at the time I’m writing this. Again, it is like sitting down with a blank document, having to write a resume…What the hell have we done in the last 5 years?
We’ve launched Phase One of our marketplace, enabling our nearly 750,000 monthly visitors to search and inquire about domains directly. We’ve improved our automated appraisal tool to make it more user-friendly, and we’ve refined our service presentation to enhance the overall experience for all visitors. We only started focusing on getting reviews a little over a year ago on Trustpilot. I wish we had started sooner!
Q2) I’m really interested in the new affiliate program. How will that work?
We’ve offered this service for years, but admittedly, we didn’t make it as visible as it should have been. If you’re a registrar, offer WHOIS data, run an automated appraisal tool, or have an audience that buys premium domains, you can integrate our buyer brokerage services into your platform.
For example, if a user goes to a registrar to search for a domain, and that user sees “Taken” or “Transfer In”, it’s likely that the person searching wants that domain. If you do not give them the ability to get it, there is a good chance they will go somewhere that can.
We help fill that need with our brokers, who all have over 8 years of industry experience. Your clients benefit from working with our team, and you receive a lifetime affiliate commission on those buyers moving forward.
Q3) Can you walk us through how the new marketplace works and how it’s different from other platforms?
This is just Phase One of the marketplace, and there’s more to come. We wanted something simple—buyers can search for domains and send inquiries instantly to our sellers. No account creation. No endless verification steps. No pitching other people’s domains along the way. We pass inquiries straight to the domain owners, and if the timing is right, sellers can even live chat with buyers on the spot.
Q4) You’ve been offering LTO for a while now. What’s the response been like?
A lot of buyers don’t even think about it until you let them know it’s an option. Our new marketplace and landers now clearly show that those terms are available. Sellers who’ve used it love it—no extra fees for offering it, no added delays. The process is smooth and helps close deals faster where they could fall apart by bringing them to a third party that has many layers of requirements.
Q5) Anything else you’d like to add about the launch and why readers should give Saw.com a try?
When I started this business five and a half years ago, my wife gave me a nameplate that sits on my desk that says “Make it Happen.” I have never worked harder on anything in my life. I believe that those who work with me daily could say the same thing about their contributions as well.
I think we all follow “Make it Happen” every day. Whether it is being a broker, designer, developer, or marketer. The new site and marketplace are just one step in our bigger plan to help our clients make more money, but everyone who works here has their part of it to make it their own.
Selling domains is all we do it is something I have only been doing for 15 years. Our company Saw.com has completed 97M since our launch, and I have been part of 550,000,000 in total in my career. Come see what we’re all about.
