Rob Watson (Saw.com) added another premium domain name to his roster of sales. Rob brokered the sale of Demand.com, John Berryhill was the attorney who worked with the buyer and handled escrow.
Demand Media made a splash in the domain industry when back in December 2006 Verisign announced it had partnered with Demand Media for a new marketing program for the .tv extension. Years later Demand Media purchased Name.com for $18M.
Demand Media changed its name to Leaf Group in 2016.
On June 10, 2021, Leaf announced shareholders had approved an acquisition by Graham Holdings for $8.50 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $323 million.
This opened the door for the domain name Demand.com to be considered for sale. Congratulations to Rob and the team at Saw.com.
The domain name was sold under a strict NDA as I did ask for pricing info.
