Saw.com provided an update on their landers and how traffic on your domain names is getting greater accuracy.
Traffic Update: Accuracy, Improvements, and What’s Next:
The number one priority of a sales lander is to resolve quickly and seamlessly across every possible device—from mobile phones and desktops to even a Commodore 64 if someone’s still using one. Why? Our top priority is capturing potential buyers when they visit your domain.
To achieve this, we’ve invested heavily in resolution speed and ensuring every domain name for sale has its own SSL certificate and an internationally accepted CAPTCHA system. In many parts of the world, even where domains might resolve fine (like China), tools like Google CAPTCHA don’t function properly. We implemented a solution to ensure maximum accessibility and performance globally.
Traffic and Inquiries: What We Learned?
Offering pricing and explaining the domain’s value on a lander are important—but they come after ensuring the visitor actually reaches the page. Because of this approach, many clients noticed a major jump in traffic compared to what they saw at their previous parking provider or marketplace.
That’s no accident. Our landers were intentionally designed to prioritize inquiries, not to aggressively filter out traffic. But with that approach came a challenge: inflated traffic numbers due to bots. Some clients even asked, “If so many people are visiting my domain and not inquiring, is something wrong with the lander?”
We brought in an industry-leading consultant to tackle this and began refining the experience.
Where Are We Now?
- We’ve already implemented our first round of improvements, which significantly reduced irrelevant bot traffic.
- A few weeks ago, we encountered some technical issues, but rather than patching the old system, we chose to fast-track the launch of the new, more accurate version.
- The first part of that release is now live, with smarter bot filtering already in place.
- The second part is being tested and should be live in the coming days.
To sum it up:
✅ Yes, traffic reporting is fixed
✅ Yes, it’s more accurate
✅ Yes, it’s only going to get better from here
Thanks for your patience as we work through these changes. We’re committed to giving you the best possible performance and results—and we’re excited about what’s coming next.
