Afternic announced today the news that many have wanted for a long time. New Landers!
On their blog Jame Iles describes everything that is the new Afternic lander.
James let me know that this replaces the Dan.com lander at Afternic, and offers Lease to Own options on a GoDaddy-branded lander for the first time.
- The Custom Lander replaces the Dan.com Lander at Afternic
- It launches with a familiar Dan.com-inspired design with a GoDaddy logo. It’s also hosted on godaddy.com URLs
- Sellers can choose whether they want to display BIN or BIN+LTO purchase options to buyers – both purchase options will see buyers checkout through the GoDaddy cart
- CamelCasing is available for domain names using the Custom Lander (also available for BIN and Request Price landers)
- CamelCasing is something that sellers will have to do manually and individually for now through the Lander Settings page for each domain
- We’ve expanded on the Dan.com design by offering internationalization. Straight out of the box, buyers will see local language settings for their landers, with plans to add local currencies for BIN and LTO within a month
- Future additions will see more customization, plus a Make Offer function – allowing buyers to make an offer directly to Afternic’s brokerage team.
It’s also useful to know that the Dan.com lander is still available for folks that prefer Dan – this launch doesn’t affect anything at Dan.com. It does mean that the lander connection between Afternic and Dan is decoupled, though. Previously, to use the Dan.com lander at Afternic, you’d need to ensure that your domain wasn’t listed at Dan. That’s no longer the case.
This is good news in my opinion, the lander is something that people loved at DAN and now they can have that with full GoDaddy branding. But I will point out this is brand new there are some bugs. You keep tabs on what some in the community are uncovering at Namepros.
