That’s something I wrote about many years ago, now if I recall domainers were supposed to be able to opt out of that.

The distribution network is powerful for sure, and whether any reseller partner can possibly track every lander is another question. It is just making things very adversarial between Afternic and domain investors.




The problem is Godaddy are causing discrepancies for the domainers with the commission structure. This is puting a tiger amongst the pidgeons and disturbing the eco system.
It shows that it’s possible to severely damage a brand you have built over decades with your own sweat with just one eMail!
I am in the middle of my first transaction on escrow.com in literally years. I was fine with paying 20% commission, as Godaddy were building the eco system. That’s all changed now.
