Scarcity, one of the driving factors behind NFT’s is also at play in the domain name market. Domain names have a lot in common with NFT’s. There are some that are very unique by being rare, as well as being non fungible. There are 17,576 3L.com domain names available, (26x26x26=17,576). But there are only 26 three letter .com domain names that are the same repeating letter.
One such name traded on Sunday, EEE.com went for $50,000 at Flippa. Previously only five other names of this kind have changed hands.
GGG.com $85,000 at Sedo in March of 2011.
JJJ.com actually changed hands twice. $16,000 at Sedo in January of 2009 and flipped 10 months later at Sedo for $48,500.
PPP.com $290,000 at Guta.com in April of 2015.
VVV.com $136,400 at NameJet in March of 2015.
YYY.com $45,444 at Sedo in August of 2010.
UPDATE: CANCELLED
Over at Namepros the Tim Schoon posted:
“I’m the buyer in this transaction at Flippa.
Unfortunately the seller (allegedly) did not realise that he owned the cyrillic punycode domain xn--e1aaa.com (еее.com) and listed eee.com at Flippa instead. Transaction is cancelled so this sale never happened.”

I think this is putting lipstick on a pig. Yes they are unique, all domains are unique, “non fungible” also means unique.
These names look good and there is strong wholesale demand for these because of the repeating letter, but there is very little enduser demand. Of the 6 examples all 6 are either an error page or barely used.

Good deal for buyer.

Lipstick on a pig, like what snoopy’s mama did with him whenever she dressed him nice. Either way he is still an ugly human being.
