It’s no secret numeric domain names have been taking a hit from their prices a few years ago. 509.com sold for $106,000 on Monday at Sedo. Nice price right? Not really, it sold for $295,000 just 3 years ago.
The Booth brothers operating under BQDN back then sold the domain name on May 27, 2018. The domain name looks to have been owned by a Chinese registrant.
Of course you don’t know why it was sold for a loss, maybe moving into crypto or another investment.
This is the first reported NNN.com sale since the Booth brothers sold 151.com for $415,000 last March. It’s the cheapest reported NNN.com sale since 284.com back in 2015.
On the flipside, BowerNyc.com was acquired for just $313 at GoDaddy auctions in 2019 and sold at Flippa for $9,900 on Monday.
NNN.com, LLL.com, these are dead markets right now unless the name has secondary usage. Prior market was a bubble.
