Domain Investing Stats and Tips

Caymans.com closes at $11,938 – Third time not a charm for BS.tv

February 28, 2021 by Raymond Hackney

Caymans.com

Caymans.com closed at $11,938 on DropCatch. The domain name was owned by someone not that far from me in Glenside, PA. The domain name was registered in 1995. Some I spoke to thought the name would go for a lot more.

I think at wholesale this is fair value for a Saturday afternoon where some might not have been following the close.

BS.tv closed at $3,027 on NameJet. This was the third public transaction for BS.tv. I am always interested in LL.tv and where they are transacting. I own NH.tv which has received over a dozen offers.

BS.tv sold for $15,000 in 2014 at Sedo. It was sold by legendary .tv domain investor JohnTv. John has been out of the limelight for awhile, he still owns LA.tv I believe. John sold RT.tv to Russia Today many years ago for $62,500.

Back to BS.tv it was registered in 2000. I do not believe the buyer ever did anything with the name or updated whois. It sold in 2011 for $2,050 before the $15,000 sale in 2014. Great name for a web series or streaming show about all the BullSh*t on the web.

“ Great name for a web series or streaming show about all the BullSh*t on the web.”

That isn’t really a market. It is a bad domain because the only likely buyers are domainers and hobbyists.

There is a market for streaming and web based entertainment, an old fart like you might not know that because you are out of step.

BS.tv would be a great name and for only $3,000???

    Get serious bro.

That is available on youtube. No business is going to try and launch a video site on BS.tv. I’m guessing you didn’t pull the trigger on this name either despite the fact that it was “only $3,000”

The name is rubbish and will gather dust for the next 20 years in a domainers enom account.

The name is far from rubbish you are just an ignorant twat. There are many businesses developed in .tv.

You are a complete moron and I blame the owner of this site for allowing your stupid comments.

Go get another hobby, domaining has passed you by, maybe go back to that shit show you ran domain state.

Alex you broke the cardinal rule of domaining. Don’t ever reply to Snoopy, Jeff the idiot from Namepros, Jeff Schneider or Robert Kline.

Conversing with these people lowers your I.Q. They are a bunch of losers who have nothing better to do with their time except troll.

I would agree that someone saying there is youtube for that sounds like they are borderline somewhere on a spectrum.

Here is one thing you know, they aren’t getting laid.

People have been saying this for 20 years about .tv. The video revolution has now happened and .tv sales and wholesale prices are even lower now than before that revolution.

Yes there are businesses on .tv, there is also businesses on .asia, .mobi and any other extension you can think of.

I can tell you Paul as I posted last week, brokered a .tv for $100,000 plus an NDA bonus. Took close to a year for the sale.

There is no business on a .Asia or .mobi the likes of Twitch or Pluto.
