Domain Investing Stats and Tips

One year later 7910.com closes significantly lower

January 24, 2021 by Raymond Hackney

7910.com

7910.com closed at $18,423 on GoDaddy auctions Saturday. The name closed one year ago to the day at GoDaddy auctions for $83,250.

The domain name was registered in 2002 and was at eName for many years before moving to GoDaddy. The registrant was from China.

Now last year, I doubt GoDaddy got paid, because the domain name moved to repossessed by GoDaddy. So they might not have gotten paid for the name.

The whois currently states the usual Afternic, LLC – On Behalf Of Domain Owner.

The nameservers have remained the same since the whois changed to repossessed by GoDaddy back in 2020.

These are some of the tricky things when looking at sales data, auctions that did not get paid for that alter the average sales price and total sales dollars for a niche.

Not many NNNN.coms change hands each year with only 25 last year and this name skewed the average sales price up.

I think these numerics have fallen quite heavily, the 83k sale price would have never been legit but it probably was a 40k name.
