A tale of two different outcomes for two 4 letter domain names on Tuesday. Vest.co and OOTD.com. Interestingly both names were used as redirects.
OOTD.com was purchased for $3,000 back in 2009 and was used as a redirect to www.offeroftheday.co.uk. The domain name was sold on Tuesday for $40,000.
Interestingly there are a lot of brands out there using OOTD in their domain name. OOTDFash.com. OOTDbyOOTD.com. I came across a Facebook page of a fashion brand out of Taiwan, that was using ootd.com.tw but their logo shows just OOTD.com. Maybe they just locally know to skip over the .tw.
On the flipside
Vest.co sold for $14,500 at Uniregistry in 2018 and was left to drop and went for $5,350 at Park.io. Just like OOTD.com, Vest.co was used as a redirect, a redirect to Vest.io. Innovation Hq, Inc. was the seller back in 2018.
Vest.io is still up and running. Their about page says:
Vest is brought to you by Cambrian Tech, a crypto-focused product lab. We’re a Series A company backed by Polychain Capital, a16z, and 1confirmation (among others), and we’re based out of downtown San Francisco.

They were both used as a redirect? Nice that you found their uniting factor.
A lot of of end users for ootd, vest.com seemed like an end user price at $5,300.
