So at the end of March I received an offer $1,000 on Stock.Loans. The name is parked at Epik and the offer came through there as well.
So I thought, eh we are in the beginning of a pandemic, I will accept the offer, no questions asked. Did a little research on the buyer, not a domainer, owned a couple domains, some of them had already dropped.
No reply, ok. I sent one email 10 days later, you made an offer, I accepted, everything ok?
After that I figured, no big deal, pandemic, much more pressing issues, they probably had buyer’s remorse.
Last week over a month after the initial offer, I get this:
I was initially purchasing this domain to resell it to a client who unfortunately passed away due to COVID infection. I can pay $ 150 for this domain now.
So they were front running me and now countering an accepted offer?
I have not replied and don’t think I will, I hope it was just trying to get a better deal and that no human being perished.
Funny stuff
That’s funny. How do you counter your own accepted offer?
Tell the guy to get lost.
Only in a less polite manner.
I had the same last week
an offer of € 2000 came in
I accepted
they said after 3 days they have no money to pay
I said ok € 500 downpayment and installments € 100 / month
they said no we can’t even that
I change BIN to € 5000
a week or so later they asked if I could honor the deal
sure I ‘m not a bastard
so money paid
deal finalized
Love your articles. this happens to me all the time and happening to me now. Words from a friend that is wise and his words to me were. “I never negotiate with myself”. I live by those words.
