March 2020 Domain Sales Report all things considered not that bad

February 2020 Domain NameSales and Trends

Looking back at March 2020 Domain Sales. Here we will examine domain sales and data trends for certain naming categories.

March saw Namebio reporting 9,941 vs  9,095 sales in February. March saw dollar volumes of $9.4 million down from $9.9 million in February.

The average sales price was $945 down from $1,090 in February up from $922 in January.

Some quick summary notes for those who focus on certain niches, each keyword you will see the average sale and how it compares to the previous month.

March was lousy for Crypto keyword sales, strong Online keyword sales.

It was a great month for .App if you are into new gtlds.

4L.com total sales volume was off $58,400. Chips were off 35% in number of sales.

There were six reported 6 figure sales in March (same as February). 151.com was the top sale of the month at $415,000.

Short names

There were only 2 three letter .com sales in March. bao.com 172,984 and uys.com $14,999.

Four letter .coms recorded 341 sales, these 4L.com sales brought in $344,900. Of those 341 sales, 83 were Chips, (no a,e,i,o,u,v). Those chips brought in $84,500 in sales. Cico.com was the top 4L.com sale at $48,318.

Numerics there was one 3N in March the previously mentioned 151.com, there was one 4N.com: 1740.com for $20,508.

There were 192 5N.com sales in March, these sales generated $271,300 in sales. The average sale price was $1,413. 99678.com.com was the high sale at $40,200.

6N.com sales totaled 116 for a total dollar amount of $107,500, average price $926. 123999.com was the high sale at $25,584.

Popular Keywords

There are certain keywords that are the most sought after in domain wanted threads, certain keywords that are the strongest when it comes to overall registration numbers.

Media recorded 26 sales ending in media, CommonSenseMedia.com was the high sale at $4,239. The average sale was $600 up from $392.

Labs recorded 13 sales ending in labs with Rubylabs.com being the high sale at $4,500. The average sales price was $566 down from $628.

Online recorded 42 sales ending in online with CNJOnline.com being the high sale at $8,900. The average sales price was $567 down from $876.

Coin recorded 11 sales ending in coin with BuyYourCoin.com being the high sale at $500. The average sales price was $244 down from $418.

Coin also recorded 8 sales as the first keyword in a two word combo. CoinMint.com was the high sale at $5,655. The average sales price was $928 up from $292.

CBD recorded 7 sales starting with CBD with CBDex.com being the high sale at $575. The average sales price was $218 down from $1,119.

CBD recorded 6 sales ending in CBD with HealthCBD.com being the high sale at $2,850. The average sales price was $626 up from $617.

Crypto recorded 4 sales starting with Crypto with CryptoCentury.com being the high sale at $214. The average sales price was $161 down from $910.

Crypto recorded 1 sale ending with Crypto, Cash4Crypto.com was the only sale at $133.

Capital recorded 9 sales ending in Capital with ClimbCapital.com being the high sale at $3,795. Average sales price was $850 down from $906.

Smart recorded 15 sales starting with Smart. SmartConcepts.com was the high sale at $2,655. Average sales price $947 down from $1,620.

Tech recorded 17 sales starting with Tech. The top sale was Technoware.com at $1,544. Average sales price $276 down from $578.

Tech recorded 22 sales ending in Tech. OnlyTech.com was the high sale at $11,233. Average sales price $940 up from $462.

Data recorded 3 sales starting with Data. DataConversionTools.com was the high sale at $206. Average sales price $170 down from $263.

Data recorded 7 sales ending in Data. BitcoinData.com was the top sale at $3,488. Average sales price $1,121 down from $2,348.

There were 3 corona related names and three pandemic keyword names sold in March.

The Corona names:

coronax.com $2,288
coronatrack.com $250
coronawear.com $205

The pandemic were all sold by BuyDomains

pandemichealth.com $2,688
uspandemic.com $1,088
pandemicalerts.com $1,088

New GTLD’s

The new gtld’s generated 49 sales. Total sales came in at $306,300.  The high sale was Shop.app at $200,000. Average sales price $6,257 up form $4,710.
