Another expired 3L.com closes at GoDaddy – 3 in one month

April 19, 2020 by Raymond Hackney

Expired 3L.com

Over the last couple weeks there have been three 3L.com that were allowed to expire.

On Saturday Hyw.com closed at $21,850. The domain looked to have had a variety of Chinese owners over the years.

A couple weeks back XGO.com closed at $25,600 and GYR.com closed at $17,500.

XGO.com was purchased by Michael Bilde and the domain is listed for sale at DAN. I thought Michael got a good buy here, he is someone that has had a lot of success with short domains and I wish him luck with XGO, I expect to see him make a big sale here.

GYR.com is listed at Afternic. It was owned by a Swiss firm it looks like and they allowed it to expire.

There have been five 3L.com expired this year, usually someone renews or transfers out at the last minute.

Last year saw a couple 6 figure names expire, CTX and DAE

Thanks for the kind words, Raymond.

Actually, I did not win the auction for xgo.com at GoDaddy Auctions, but the first winner did not pay, so it was offered to me being the second-highest bidder. And I know you will ask, so I might as well tell you ;-): $21,418.

Only time will tell if it was a good investment, but I think it is a very nice name.

Yes, having said that, my sales have been slow for quite a while, so I am very careful about buying at the moment. This was an exception.
