There is a thread on Namepros where a member wanted opinions on Domainer vs Domain Investor. Was their a difference? Should there be a difference.
Brad Mugford gave a good answer in my opinion.
I think most people tend to use the terms interchangeably, but I would consider a “domain investor” to be a slightly higher level than a “domainer”.
When I think “investment” it factors in a lot more than just buying some random domains.
You need some type of business model or plan.If I am talking to someone who asks what I do I normally just use the term “internet investor”. It is easier for the average person to understand.
Thanks,
Brad
Some would like to see “domainer” be included in a proper dictionary like Merriam-Webster.
What is funny is the Urban Dictionary, a tale of two definitions, one is going to make a lot of domain investors angry.
Domain investor I’d say is someone who makes money from domains in a passive way.
The key point being “makes money”. Many domainers do not.
