Rob Monster’s prediction on Uniregistry on the money

February 11, 2020 by Raymond Hackney

Uniregistry

Rob Monster made a prediction thread for the industry at the beginning of the year.

Rob predicted Uniregistry would get acquired in 2020 and it took only 42 days to be proved right.

Industry consolidation: Look for DAN, Efty, Escrow.com and Uniregistry all to be acquired in 2020. Godaddy will be a buyer of innovation as they throw in the towel on building great tech internally.

    Thanks.

If my thesis is right, Escrow.com should be next. Jackson’s payday is coming and now you know why he was smiling at Namescon. That would be the cat who ate the canary, and got away with it too.

Look for Uniregistry TLD portfolio to be in the hands of Donuts shortly. I don’t have the official word, but I would bet that it is “Fait accompli”. Private companies just take longer to announce.

The other Godaddy prediction for this quarter is a meaty restructuring charge that writes down the goodwill trash and sets up 12 quarters of earnings growth from early harvest fro 350K domain portfolio.

The PayPal board member addition announced this week also signals some innovations coming in payment processing. If they take out Escrow.com then Freelancer clears through Paypal. That fits nicely.

Aman is moving swiftly and making his mark.

How would Jackson benefit as freelancers stock is so beat up, like a free fall. Most freelancer users hate companies like Godaddy, and prefer to use companies like Namecheap etc.

Rob probably wishes it was Epik that got bought by GoDaddy instead of Uniregistry.

Not really, Epik is building a lot of tools that bark at the heels of godaddy, and give investors many other options, and liquidity choices around the world. Epik is important in the space.

Remember Uni had 350,000 hand picked domains as part of the deal, Godaddy will probably yield $1B from such names over the course of the business.

Epik is just exhaust fumes compared to GoDaddy.

I was told in November GoDaddy.com was not buying any kind of domains from a member of executive accounts.

New CEO, new options, all or nothing type deal.

Goddady is not innovative, still powerful, giving discounts to snake charmers so that they share their power and attract more customers account.

Godaddy is the evil of the domain industry, they have been granted patents that no other company in this country would have granted to others.

Godaddy buys a lot of dominer’s domain portfolios every year all the same no more than $ 200 to $ 250 and then they are sold as premium between $ 500 to $ 2500 this is the figure that Paul Nicks spoke in the Namecon 2019 they have everything calculated, they are Domainer that buy low cost and make money from what are called expert domainers who write is your blog, hidden and non-existent sales the appearance is very important now that when the barrier is opened all are horns of rabid cows that must be tamed and Godaddy is at made so that none is distracted and go to the competition, as if it existed.
