I want to wish all our readers a very Happy New Year. May 2020 bring you all you need in your life with much health and happiness.
I am starting a little awards post on New Years Day looking back on the previous year and with the intent of helping a good cause.
So I am doing our Best in Domaining awards ( BID) for 2019. I will be donating $100 in the name of each winner to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Best Brokerage 2019 – VIP Brokerage – When you take 2 of the top 4 spots on the yearly sales charts, the largest geo ever sold, California for $3 million, you get my vote.
Best Blog 2019 – DomainNameWire I obviously have excluded TLDinvestors and TheDomains.com from consideration. I think Andrew did an excellent job in 2019 with his podcast.
Best Domainer 2019 – Chad Wright I am going outside the box and giving it to Chad Wright. I think what Chad accomplished with Free.games and a bunch of other new gtld sales was outstanding.
Best Domainer Resource 2019 – Namebio Michael Sumner provided paid memberships in 2019 and added a lot more data for users to peruse.
Best Contributor – Bob Hawkes this award is just about contributing to people and companies in the business with an upbeat and positive attitude and just being a really good person. Bob gets the inaugural win.
I want to thank all our readers and all our advertisers. I want to thank Alvin Brown and Kassey Lee for contributing excellent articles. I want to thank those that sent gifts over the holidays, much appreciated. Sara I never even knew who you were and as I said in my email, much too kind.
This blog is now 9 years old and my domaining career (If we can call it that) is now starting year 24, damn I am old. A few new things to be added this year hopefully, I need a boring business to become more exciting.
May each of you have the best year ever in all aspects of your life.
Thank you

I just learned of this and feel totally at a loss for words (which does not happen often :-). Thank you so much, Raymond. I am so grateful, and surprised, that you would even consider me as “Best Contributor”. The domain industry is full of wonderful people who I have learned from, especially you! I still have much to learn. I am in awe of the amount your write and your long term perspective is valuable. As Shane pointed out, it is you who are deserving of any awards! Your contribution to St. Jude will help lives of children who you will never meet. Thank you so much and best wishes for 2020!
-Bob

I will reiterate what Shane wrote. You deserve your own reward for all of your efforts this past decade.
The amount of info you come up with daily for (2) Highly respected Industry blogs is unbelievable.
Congrats to all domaining award winners here. Great picks.

happy new years Raymond, fantastic idea with the awards and I loved that they did not go to the usual suspects.
You are the best in this business at content, all the best to you in the new year and beyond.

Bob deserves much more than that but thanks for appreciating this good man’s willingness to sharing and kindness.
Andrew contributed to the domain community with his podcasts and articles. I hope he will continue to do that contribution in 2020.

Neither of them are on the level of contribution the man who gave the awards is at.
Happy new year Raymond, you are simply the best.
