We are updating a domain sale story posted here back in October of last year on How.tv. I have had several people email or text over the last year on whether or not the deal closed or not.
In attempts to get clarification on the reported sale of How.tv for $75,000.
We have a confirmed buyer for How.TV closing at $75,000 *. For those who are new to the story, this was a new hand registration on Friday. The transaction is currently in escrow at Epik. Congratulations in advance to the registrant for some outrageous ROI. Love that. I hope the registrant consolidates all their domains at Epik so we can keep closing big exits for them for many years to come.
* Note: Traditionally, Epik does not disclose customer domain sales. This is in line with our positioning as the Swiss Bank of Domains. However, because this is such a “David vs. Goliath” story, it had to be shared. The Domaining industry is alive and well. I think the key in this sale negotiation was that instead of saying “make offer”, the prospects were invited to either (1) lease the domain, or (2) pay the full asking price. The buyer choose option 2.
Later down the road Rob posted:
The buyer is in the UAE. The transaction should close within this week. I just spoke to the buyer via phone now to review closing mechanics. Looks good.
Rob posted in the first article here that there were multiple bidders.
The owner posted on Namepros that the deal did not close.
The domain name is currently on auction at Flippa. Good luck to the seller.

It’s not pro. Never announce a sale before it’s officially completed. Epik needs those PRs to promote their services so much.

typical Rob! Related with that sale, i offered him to broker a premium .tv of mine and he said please transfer to epik. he fooled me twice so shame on me. i am curious how people trust epik as a registrar. i would not host any of my domains even if they offer 1 usd!
