I wanted to take the time to let readers know where I stand and where I am focused for 2017. We of course have a disclosure page here, but I want to use this post to drill down, so readers have an understanding about the content created and the views espoused.
My portfolio is small, it is under 150 domains and 88% of those domains are .com. I own less than 10 new gtld names. So you see there is nothing I write about that I much care whether or not readers buy or sell a certain niche.
The focus of my .com portfolio is in brandable.coms mostly two worders. I exited all my 4L.com/.net in 2015. I own 1 numeric name a 5N.net.
This blog sells advertising, the advertiser’s are clearly displayed by their banner ads.
Content creation, promotion and selling advertising is of far greater importance to me than my own portfolio. I also do some consulting for companies that are outside the industry and have little understanding of our business.
I also broker names, due to being busy on the content side I did very little of that in 2016.
Nothing published here is a recommendation or a solicitation. I write about what I am doing and what I am seeing, research pieces always have sources provided.
I write for other blogs in the industry including MorganLinton.com,Namepros and DomainCrunch.com.
I am the managing editor and ad sales for TheDomains.com.
I have never taken money to write an article positively or negatively about any company in the industry. If there is ever a sponsored content piece on this blog it will be explicitly stated. To date we have done 0 sponsored content. That may change in 2017.
Currently I hold zero ownership in any publicly traded domain related company. That is subject to change at anytime.
You are a class act. This was a great gesture in giving readers transparency.
Very transparent and clearly articulated. Appreciate the full disclosure. Shows your honesty and class!
Wish you a happy new year and a successful year ahead/
