DNBolt.com published a table of BrandBucket sales for the last three months. In a post on Namepros they wrote:
The table displays 3 months worth of sold domains at any given point of time. Dnbolt has been collecting Brandbucket sold domains since late 2015 and has learnt a lot during the process. After listening to the community on namepros I felt rendering sales data as an image would be the best approach. The table is still in beta mode as still working on speed optimization and multi threads so pardon me if you experience any problems with the table.
I took a look at the data here are some quick stats:
153 names reported
62 Two word combinations
The most popular endings were: vo 4, io 5, ia 3 and the leader ly with 9.
Top sale ooki.com $13,995
4L.com sales – 5
5L.com sales – 20
I include a lot of color/keyword and keyword/animal names when I do available names posts. These are popular naming conventions with brands.
There were 3 Color/Keyword names. WhiteStack.com – PurpleFence.com and RedTorch.com.
Animal related:
TechBuffalo.com
ShareBird.com
RoyalBee.com Yes I know a bee is an insect but included it.
ProfitPanda.com
Disclaimer: We have not verified that DNBolt has the actual sales price as there are factors that could affect their sales data collection.
I know this guy has taken some stick over at Namepros but what he is doing should be commended, he is helping every brandable domain owner out there, he is one of the few showing us what type of brandable is selling and for how much and it helps all of us understand this sometimes puzzling sector of domaining
With a quick scan it also looks like:
148 .com
4 .ly
1 .io
Thanks for the breakdown.
Great post and love your break down about the brandable sales. Brandbucket already mentioned in one of their news newsletter that they normally sell domains for their listed price only about 2% are negotiated etc. But Raymond, how are you able to break a news before anybody knows about it. For some time I have been planning to create a domaining blog but each time each time I remember your blogs and others, I just feel it would be almost impossible to compete with you.
@John,
Raymond pays attention. He has a thousand eyes and an ear to the ground at every intersection. He can spot a mouse twitching in the grass from his hang glider half a mile up in the air. All the leaves on all the trees are his spies. Raymond gets the news.
Don’t look at launching a blog as competing with other bloggers. If you have something to share, share it. Established bloggers are usually happy to support each other as well as newcomers.
Seems a lot of the domains are still forwarding to BB.
I agree with @Jordon. DNBolt is a great guy (or gal?) to be providing this information.
