Inside The Numbers 8-13-15
I have changed the format here again, the report will only contain sales, and you will see a breakdown with info about each sale. A couple reasons for the change part Deux, a couple people emailing me about the data still being misleading as when they go to use comps. One person sent me an email of 10 Go Daddy LLLL.coms that did not go through but were listed here and on Namebio. I still think data is important on short domains at least to have a feel for where the auctions go on 3L.com,4.com and 3 – 6 number.coms.
Someone else mentioned the number of Flippa sales that don’t go through including high profile auctions. To be fair Kevin Fink does send out reversals to me and Michael at Namebio, he updates the Flippa blog with them.
I have another project where I will be discussing 4L.com once the site owner is ready, so that data and analysis will go there. I will still track all the 4L.com sales including public Go Daddy sales which are listed nowhere else. I will also do a weekly numeric closing report.
tixstar.com $5,000 Sedo
Not a bad hold time on this one, the domain was registered in 2012, the domain was purchased by a registrant in Australia. Peach Inc Limited out of the UK looks to be the seller. The org and info are registered with the .net dropped and was registered today, no doubt someone saw the sale and checked availability.

I see auctions that don’t close all the time and reported. so I agree it’s very misleading.
I like that you listen to readers; unlike so many so – called expert bloggers.
Thanks, Ray.
Whoever this someone is that mentioned the number of sales that don’t go through on our platform — as far as domains are concerned, last month we had less than 1% reversed ( < $2,500 ).
We're working on ways to hold reporting until the domain has been confirmed as transferred.
There are actually two reasons why a name can fail to pass the sale:
1. The buyer has failed to pay for it
2. The owner has renewed it (the often case with expiring names) or has failed to transfer the name
While the sale information reported for case 1. is useless, the information for case 2. has value – it shows the price someone _was ready to pay_ for the particular name
I agree Artem, that’s why I will be doing a weekly report on Numerics and a new project charting LLLL.com.
